Leading independent medical education provider, Nexus Healthcare Education (Nexus HE), has won a gold award at the PMi Awards 2026, for innovation and impact in Independent Medical Education.
Founded in London in 2024 by Emily Harrison, Nexus HE is an independent, globally operating medical education provider that specialises in translating complex scientific data and emerging clinical research into practical, engaging and impactful learning experiences.
Organised by the PM Society, the PMi Awards celebrate innovation and measurable impact across pharmaceutical marketing and healthcare communications. The Independent Medical Education category recognises continuing education programmes that demonstrate innovation and impact in supporting healthcare professionals’ development.
Nexus HE’s winning entry, Redefining the Patient Journey in Persistent Uncontrolled Hypertension, made medical findings accessible with an immersive hypertension programme that engaged more than 1700 clinicians at the European Society of Hypertension Congress in Gdańsk, Poland. It explored evolving understanding of high blood pressure, aldosterone dysregulation, and associated heart and kidney damage.
A 12-metre digital wall was combined with storytelling, personalised CME-accredited AI-supported learning app, live expert discussions, and take-away resources to allow delegates to explore clinical scenarios, ask questions, and access learning in multiple languages.
This activity was supported by an independent educational grant from AstraZeneca, though the biopharmaceutical company had no involvement in event organisation or educational content.
In a matched pre/post assessment (N = 1,019), correct responses on the cardiovascular risk of aldosterone dysregulation increased from 66% before the education to 88% afterwards, and correct responses on identifying patients with aldosterone dysregulation rose from 68% to 85%. Six weeks later, 71% of clinicians completing a patient care log reported having adopted at least one change in their routine practice.
Judges praised the cohesive learning journey and demonstrated educational outcomes, describing it as “a very engaging and well-executed educational experience, deserving of the Gold award”.
